Application Requirements

To apply for this course you must meet the following pre-requisites:

  • You must hold a Level 2 Counselling certificate (or equivalent) OR have substantial experience working in a helping role
  • You must hold a Level 3 Counselling certificate (or equivalent) that comprised of no less than 70% face to face training (online courses are not accepted)
  • Be able to provide an academic reference that confirms your suitability to study level 5 standards OR complete a short written assignment to evidence your ability (external applicants only)
  • Be at least 25 years of age when the programme starts
  • Be in a financial, practical, and emotional position to commit to a robust two-year training process (part-time)
  • Be motivated to arrange and maintain a professional placement, individual supervision, and ongoing personal therapy (the placement will be in the second year only)

*Please note that places are only secured on receipt of a 15%, non-refundable deposit payable during digital enrolment week (September). There are no fees associated with the application process, only enrolment, for which invitation is subject to interview.

Please prepare the following before applying:

  • Scanned copies of your certificates (photographs are acceptable if you don’t have access to a scanner)
  • If applicable: Details of an academic referee OR a 500 word statement summarising your learning and personal growth throughout level 3, including, where appropriate, academic references (Harvard format)
  • A Google account (emailaddress@gmail.com) which you will need to sign into to complete the application process
